A collaborative performance of live music, poetry and dance bringing the stories of displaced youth to life.
Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet is creating a new work with the Cuatro Puntos Ensemble and Narratio, a refugee youth organization that supports creative expression for displaced populations. Fellows from the Narratio Fellowship Program will be telling their stories through poetry set to music by Iraqi composer Ameen Mokdad and visualized through choreography by ECB Artistic Director Elisa Schroth.
A series of four performances will be presented at Middletown’s Wadsworth Mansion. This specific performance exclusively for 4th and 5th graders from MacDonough Elementary School in Middletown. Accompanying classroom instruction will enable Macdonough students to write their own stories.

The Fairfield County Dance Festival is coming to Middletown, CT! Ekklesia is both hosting and participating as a guest artist in the Fairfield County Dance Festival this August! Ekklesia will join with two other professional dance companies, East Cost Contemporary Ballet and Thomas Ortiz Dance for this exciting and FREE one-day dance festival!
The event will be Friday, August 2nd at 6:30 pm at 381 Main St in Middletown. The event is FREE!
The event will be outside, and audience members can bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket to sit on.
Performance at First Church of Stamford

The First Congregational Church of Stamford
Ekklesia will be performing as part of the Sunday service at the First Congregational Church of Stamford. Ekklesia will be performing our beloved pieces Psalm 84, Linked, and Lament. In addition to the performance of these works, Ekklesia will be leading a Moving Dialogue, which is a time when Artistic Director Elisa Schroth will lead the congregation through movement exercises that aim to help each person connect more with their own individual bodies, as well as with the collective body of the community. Join us as we join the First Congregational Church of Stamford to help further their mission to cultivate inclusive communities of faith, hope, and love.
The service with the performance will be Sunday, September 29th at 10:30 am, at 655 Stillwater Rd, Stamford CT. Come join if you are able!
