Georgia Reed

Adult Ballet / Pointe

Georgia Reed began training in ballet, modern, jazz, and character dancer from a very young age at the renowned Alexandra School of Ballet in St. Louis, Missouri. Summer training intensives included Fort Wayne Ballet, Princeton Ballet, and Boston Ballet, all on scholarship. Georgia was awarded the Choreographer’s Conference Award at the Midstates' Regional Ballet Festival, and The Spirit Award at Butler University where she trained extensively in the Vaganova technique with private coach and mentor Marek Cholewa. After one year of college, Georgia was hired to join the Cincinnati Ballet where she performed soloist roles, followed by The Kansas City Ballet and then Ballet Hispánico in New York City. Georgia then went freelance, performing with Astra Dance in Los Angeles and appearing in music videos and stage productions while simultaneously pursuing a career in film and television. She eventually transitioned into full-time acting, but not before returning to the stage one more time to perform the lead role of Giselle at her hometown studio’s 60th anniversary. Georgia created a YouTube channel to chronicle her journey back into professional dance as an adult, and believes "it is never too late to become what you might have been.” She continues to bring this attitude to her teaching, encouraging students to take a breath, take a chance, and trust the process.
