Myalene Schulze

Trainee

Myalene Schulze grew up in Bristol, CT, beginning her training at the age of three. She stayed under the instruction of the same dance instructor until age nine, studying tap, jazz, and ballet, and competing. At age nine, she joined Ekklesia School of Ballet, where she danced for eight years, until the age of seventeen. At Ekklesia, she studied ballet, contemporary, and modern. She has performed in works created by renowned choreographers such as Kevin Jenkins, the JA Collective, Dylan Crossman, Alejandro Ulloa, Claire Mazza, Ruth Lewis, and Elisa Schroth. Throughout high school, she performed lead roles in Sleeping Beauty, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Paquita, and Alice in Wonderland, as well as Elisa Schroth’s original work, Ahavah. In high school, she also performed alongside the previous artists of Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet in Elisa Schroth’s Body and Land, The Curve, and Living Stories. She’s attended intensives, auditions, and masterclasses for multiple programs and under multiple artists and teachers. She worked as a student teacher during her senior year of high school and looks forward to pursuing teaching through training and opportunities throughout her college years and beyond. This year, she is pursuing a major in English and Creative Writing at an online college and hopes to continue on to author books and work as an editor. She is very excited to continue dancing with Ekklesia, and is looking forward to her first season with the company!
